The SBA Indiana District Office today announced that Franklin-based B2S Life Sciences is named the 2019 Exporter of the Year in Indiana, recognizing the start-up company for its success and dedication to exporting products and services. Founded in 2017, B2S Life Sciences is a biotherapeutics enablement company helping clients around the world turn discoveries into drugs to treat patients.
“It is my pleasure to announce B2S Life Sciences as the 2019 SBA Indiana Exporter of the Year,” said SBA Indiana District Director Stacey Poynter. “Entrepreneurs are the innovators who take risks on ideas, invest in their communities and create jobs. B2S Life Sciences is a shining example of how their skills and creativity not only support their own families, but also fuel economic growth in Franklin neighborhoods creating jobs and building vibrant communities.”
For several years, B2S Life Sciences has worked closely with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to develop export plans and participate in programs such as the Purdue University Exporting Program. Approximately 30 percent of B2S Life Sciences’ current sales are due to exported goods and services, and exporting has led to an increase in the company’s employment rate.
“B2S Life Sciences has always focused on being a global drug development company striving to support the local economy and a global market alike,” said Aleks Davis, CEO of B2S Life Sciences. “We look forward to building more global partnerships that will allow us to export our goods more efficiently and help us build meaningful, mutually beneficial partnerships across borders.”
B2S Life Sciences will be recognized for this achievement during a joint SBA/SBDC awards luncheon on May 9 in Indianapolis.
